Message from Gator Coaching Staff
Hello Parents and Swimmers,
The Gator coaching staff would like to congratulate you on completing the first week of swim practice and welcome you into week two!
We hope everyone is having an amazing time at practice, building friendships with teammates who share the same dedication and love for the water. As we continue, our focus will be on building confidence, strength, and endurance in preparation for upcoming swim meets.
A big part of improving in the water starts outside of it. Proper sleep, nutrition, and hydration all play a major role in performance. One simple way to support your swimmer is:
• Have a light snack 15–20 minutes before practice
• Have a small recovery snack 15–20 minutes after practice
As temperatures begin to rise, staying properly hydrated becomes even more important. Water plays a key role in:
• Supporting muscle growth by transporting nutrients
• Helping the body flush out waste and reduce fatigue
• Preventing muscle breakdown caused by dehydration
• Improving performance by reducing cramps and soreness
• Keeping joints healthy and reducing injury risk
While we continue to grow and improve together at practice, it’s the small, consistent habits—hydration, nutrition, and rest—that make the biggest difference in performance.
Please keep up the great effort and focus you’ve been showing. The coaching staff is proud of each and every swimmer.
Thank you, have a great evening, and we’ll see you at practice!
