Message from Coach Ian
Hello Parents and Swimmers,
The Gator coaching staff would like to congratulate you on your improvements over the last two weeks. The effort, attitude, and willingness to work that we have seen from the swimmers during this time has been outstanding, and it is already showing in the progress being made in the water.
As we welcome you into our third week of practice, I would like to remind everyone that building confidence, strength, and endurance is directly correlated to focus and participation in completing our set goals and time standards. Consistent attendance and arriving ready to work each day will continue to make a big difference as we move further into the season.
The weather forecast predicts rainy weather on Wednesday and Thursday. Please be prepared to have dry towels and clothes available after practice. We suggest on cold days bringing warm water to practice. This can help athletes who are more likely to get cold. In our sport, it is important to keep our body temperature regulated so we can efficiently use our energy.
Keep up the hard work, Gators.
“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” — Aristotle
Every practice we are building the habits that define what it means to be a Gator. Small improvements made consistently will continue to add up over the course of the season.
When we swim against Treeview on May 16, we want to be united, focused, and prepared. Most importantly, we want to represent the Warm Springs Gators while testing our ability, learning to enjoy the discomfort, and trusting the work that you have already done.
Be encouraging, inclusive, and excited to support one another.
